“Christie’s Original Mini Ritz Crackers are being pulled from shelves all over Canada due to an undisclosed allergen, according to an announcement by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). The alert, issued on Tuesday, indicates that the product may inadvertently contain milk, an allergen not specified on the product label, thus posing a potential hazard to those with dairy allergies.
The CFIA has strongly advised consumers allergic or sensitive to these products against their consumption, as they could trigger severe or even life-threatening reactions. The crackers under recall bear a UPC of “0 66721 02774 0” and one of three expiry dates on the packaging: Jan. 22, Jan. 23, or Jan. 24, 2025.
Interestingly, the recall was initiated by the company itself, and so far, there have been no reported cases of allergic reactions associated with the consumption of this product. The CFIA also advised that any recalled products should be discarded or returned to the point of purchase.
While the primary goal of this article isn’t investment advice, consumers and potential investors might find it useful to stay informed about such product recalls, as they could have a significant impact on the company’s reputation and bottom line.”
