The Galaxy S25 is already shattering milestones, despite the fact that it hasn’t been officially released yet.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 has quickly garnered a significant following, with its pre-order numbers in South Korea exceeding those of its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 series. According to Samsung’s reports, from January 24 to February 3, an impressive 1.31 million units of the Galaxy S25 have been pre-booked, surpassing the Galaxy S23 model that managed 1.21 million pre-orders during a similar timeframe.

Samsung also shed light on the performance of the different models within the series. As expected, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has emerged as the frontrunner, with over half of the pre-orders (52%) opting for this high-end model. The standard Galaxy S25 follows in popularity with 26% of the pre-orders, while the Galaxy S25 Plus trails with 22%.

Though these statistics are specific to the South Korean market, it’s reasonable to believe that the same trend holds true globally. The Galaxy S25 Ultra, with its advanced camera features, larger display, S Pen stylus, and other perks, has become a favorite. However, all three models are equipped with Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI features, which the company has been aggressively marketing as a prime selling point.

Despite the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s top-tier specs and our positive 8/10 review, it’s not necessarily the go-to choice. In our view, the Galaxy S25 Plus strikes the perfect balance within the range and is $300 cheaper— a factor worth considering before making a final decision, despite its less enthusiastic reception in pre-orders by South Korean buyers.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is currently open for pre-orders, with the official launch slated for February 7. If you’re in the market for a new phone and are comparing options, we suggest considering other strong contenders such as the OnePlus 13 and Google Pixel 9 Pro, which are giving Samsung a run for its money this year.
