The Toronto Maple Leafs assign goalie Anthony Stolarz to Injured Reserve list

The Canadian Press announced on December 15, 2024, that Toronto Maple Leafs’ goaltender, Anthony Stolarz, has been put on injured reserve. The 30-year-old player seemed to have suffered a right leg injury during the team’s 3-2 win against the Anaheim Ducks.

Stolarz has exhibited an impressive performance in the 2024-25 season with a .927 save percentage and a 2.15 goals-against average, along with one shutout. His record stands at 9-5-2.

The New Jersey-born player had previously signed a two-year contract with the Leafs worth US$5-million, after his victorious stint as a backup with the Florida Panthers in June, leading to their Stanley Cup win.

This season, Stolarz has been sharing the crease with fellow goalie Joseph Woll. As per the team’s announcement, Stolarz’s time on injured reserve will count from Thursday. Consequently, he missed the Sunday game against the Buffalo Sabres and will also be unavailable for the upcoming game against the Dallas Stars this Wednesday.
