In 2022, a man named David Morin, 30, who had previously attacked a stranger with a knife in a Tim Hortons located in downtown Vancouver, has once again been permitted to live in a halfway house within the city. In June, Morin was given a statutory release after completing two-thirds of his three-year prison sentence.

However, he was taken back into custody in October for violating the terms of his release. The Vancouver police have released a statement indicating that Morin has been re-released as of November 26. They strongly believe that it’s crucial to alert the public about his release as they consider him to pose a significant threat to the community.

Morin is a tall man, standing at six feet three inches, with a medium build, short black hair, and brown eyes.

Until June 25, 2025, Morin is required to adhere to several conditions, which include abstaining from alcohol and drugs unless prescribed or over-the-counter, avoiding contact with individuals involved in criminal activities, and refraining from any contact with the victim. He is also prohibited from carrying knives unless for food preparation or lawful employment purposes and with prior written permission from a parole supervisor. Furthermore, he must promptly report all intimate and non-intimate relationships and friendships with females to his parole supervisor.
