Probes are ongoing into a distressing incident a 19-year-old woman from Langley said she had with an Uber driver.
Caitlin, who Global News is only naming by her first name, recounted that she was on an Uber trip with her mom and her mom’s friend to an event in Langley, and she sat at the front.
“I noticed my daughter was silent. She usually interrupts the conversations, but she wasn’t doing that,” Caitlin’s mom, Tylyn Fasciglione, remarked.
After the short 10-minute journey ended, Caitlin revealed to her mom what the driver was allegedly doing.
“He exposed himself… his genitals… and he started masturbating,” Fasciglione said Caitlin disclosed to her.

She further informed her mother that the driver attempted to reach out to her.
“When he tried to touch my leg and moved his hand closer to me, I started shifting away so I was nearer to the door and farther from him,” Caitlin said.

Fasciglione mentioned that she did report the driver through the Uber app and informed Langley RCMP who confirmed that an investigation is now underway.
No arrest has been made in the case as of yet.
“What if there are other vulnerable women out there?” Fasciglione questioned. “Even children are now allowed to take Ubers.”
