AI technology that we merit is being provided to us by tech giants like Google, Oppo, Moto, and Honor.

The buzzword “AI” or Artificial Intelligence seems to have lost its sheen due to repetitive and excessive use by every tech company. The majority of AI applications that are currently in use, seem to be more of a novelty rather than having any significant impact on our daily lives.

The initial wave of AI focused on generating content leading to phenomena like memes, digital art, and deepfake videos. However, the lack of a universally appealing use-case has led us to the threshold of a new era of AI, where the focus is on making our lives simpler and easier.

In this new era of AI, I recently had the opportunity to explore five distinct examples that point towards a future where AI will truly realize our dreams.

One of the notable examples is Google’s Gemini Live. This AI application is designed to simplify the lives of hundreds of millions of smartphone users who use Gemini or similar AI solutions from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Gemini Live demonstrated at the Android Avenue at MWC 2025, promises to solve one of the biggest challenges in the smart home ecosystem – getting different devices to work seamlessly together.

Additionally, other tech companies like Motorola, Oppo, Honor, and Tecno are also pioneering AI solutions, each tackling unique challenges. For instance, Motorola’s Smart Connect aims at integrating all Android and Windows devices, regardless of the manufacturer. On the other hand, Oppo, Honor, and Tecno are working on real-time translation solutions to facilitate seamless international communication.

Honor is also venturing into the realm of agentic AI with its AI Agent. This AI assistant can perform tasks just like a human would, significantly reducing the need for multiple prompts.

As we step into this new era of ‘helpful AI’, we can expect these AI solutions to solve complex problems and perform mundane tasks, making our lives easier and more efficient. From real-time translations to booking hotels, these AI advancements are set to revolutionize our day-to-day interactions and activities.

Undoubtedly, Google’s Gemini is leading the AI revolution in the Android space. By partnering with several phone manufacturers, Google aims to make AI accessible to the masses. This collaborative approach is a testament to the fact that we are finally getting the AI solutions we have been longing for.
