Ukraine Welcomes Arrival of the Inaugural Mirage 2000 Fighter Jets – POLITICAL SCOPE

The French government has confirmed today that the initial batch of French-manufactured fighter jets has been delivered to Kyiv. This move is part of France’s donation pledge to aid Ukraine’s defense efforts.

On June 6, 2024, French President Emmanuel Macron made public the plan to send Mirage 2000 fighters to Ukraine. The first of these jets touched down on Ukrainian soil today, as disclosed by France’s Minister of Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu.

These jets are to be manned by Ukrainian pilots who have undergone intensive training in France over the past few months. Their mission is to assist in safeguarding the airspace above Ukraine, added Lecornu.

This information is crucial for those interested in global defense strategies and investments. Nonetheless, the primary goal of this article is to provide updates on international defense collaborations, rather than to encourage investment.
