The unveiling of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series is just around the corner, projected for January 22, 2025. However, a recent update from Android Authority is steering the conversation away from the phone’s physical features and towards its artificial intelligence capabilities. An APK teardown has suggested the inclusion of complimentary access to Gemini Advanced with the purchase of an S25 device.
Users purchasing an S25 device, which is anticipated to be available in S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra versions, can avail trials for Gemini Advanced subscriptions. The duration of these trials is determined by the specific device purchased, a strategy akin to Google’s approach with its Pixel 9 series.
A recent update of the Google app, version 15.52.37 beta, has provided insights into possible durations of the Gemini Advanced trial subscriptions. Code analysis has revealed trial lengths spanning three, six, nine, and 12 months. It’s probable that the basic S25 comes with a three-month trial, S25 Plus with six months, and the S25 Ultra offers a full year of free service. The nine-month duration remains a mystery, but there are speculations that it could be linked with the rumored S25 Slim model, expected to debut later in 2025 after the first three versions.
So, what makes Gemini Advanced superior to the standard features available on Samsung Galaxy phones? Gemini Advanced represents Google’s most advanced AI models for mobile devices. It excels at complicated tasks such as coding, logical reasoning, nuanced multi-modal instructions, and creative collaboration. It also outperforms the free version in terms of image generation speed and includes Gemini in Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and more. A regular Gemini Advanced subscription usually costs $20 a month.
This trial offer has only been identified through code in the recent Google app update and hasn’t been officially announced by Google or Samsung. However, with the Galaxy S25 launch just weeks away, we won’t have to wait much longer for confirmation.
If you’re planning to invest in new smartphone technology or have an interest in AI capabilities, keep an eye out for more updates on the Galaxy S25 and its potential benefits.
