Keung To, the heartthrob of Hong Kong’s Cantopop scene, has requested his admirers to abstain from voting for him for the world’s most handsome men list. He cites feelings of intense embarrassment as he claimed the second spot this year, surpassing stars like football veteran David Beckham and Superman’s Henry Cavill. In 2023, he was third on the list.
The 25-year-old is part of the boy band Mirror and was placed just after Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, noted for his role as Thor in the Marvel Universe, in the recently revealed “100 Most Handsome Faces” of 2024 list.
Keung To expressed his discomfort with the ranking through his social media account, saying, “Please don’t put me on the list again. This ranking makes me terribly embarrassed every time. I feel like it’s nonsense.”
He expressed a preference for being considered the second most handsome man in his own home, behind his father.
The 2024 list also featured three other Hong Kong celebrities, including Anson Kong and Anson Lo, who are part of Keung’s band, Mirror, and were ranked 23rd and 91st respectively. These rankings are published annually by English writer TC Candler and the Independent Critics since 1990.
The list’s top spot was claimed by actor Chris Hemsworth.
Wong Yuk-hei, a singer and dancer known as Lucas from the K-pop supergroup SuperM, also made it onto the list, securing the 58th position.
For those interested in the entertainment industry as a potential investment, these rankings and the popularity of these artists could offer clues to market trends and potential areas of growth. Yet, the core of this article remains focused on the humility shown by Keung To amidst his rising fame.
