Raptors Welcome Back Poeltl, Olynyk, and Mitchell to Their Roster

“John Chidley-Hill of The Canadian Press reported on 7th December 2024 that Jakob Poeltl, Kelly Olynyk, and Davion Mitchell are set to make their comeback to the Toronto Raptors lineup in the game against the Dallas Mavericks. The previous match saw the Raptors lose 129-92 to the Oklahoma City Thunder with Poeltl absent due to illness.

Davion Mitchell’s participation had been uncertain due to right hip stiffness after the loss to the Thunder, but Raptors head coach Dakro Rajakovic confirmed his availability for the Mavericks game.

The game will also mark Kelly Olynyk’s first appearance in the 2024-25 season. Olynyk had to sit out the entire pre-season and the first 23 games due to back spasms. Born in Toronto and raised in Kamloops, B.C., Olynyk will bring significant depth to the Raptors’ rotation.

Last season, after being traded to the Raptors by the Utah Jazz, Olynyk averaged 12.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in 28 games. His return is anticipated to boost the team’s performance.
