The London Knights are riding high on a wave of victories, having secured their tenth consecutive win against the Sarnia Sting on November 15 at Canada Life Place. Easton Cowan and Jacob Julien led the charge, each scoring two goals, while Denver Barkey and Sam Dickinson provided strong support with four assists each.
The Knights’ winning streak now boasts an impressive run of 10 straight victories and 13 wins from their last 14 games. However, this isn’t the only streak the team is celebrating. Easton Cowan managed to keep his regular season scoring run active, hitting a milestone of 50 consecutive games. This feat was achieved in the nick of time, with Cowan scoring an empty-net goal with just 21.9 seconds left in a game against the Guelph Storm on November 10.
Cowan’s 50-game scoring streak ties him with Alexander Radulov for the longest stretch with at least one point in every game in the Canadian Hockey League. Radulov achieved this feat with the Quebec Remparts in the 2005-06 season. Only Jimmy Fox and Doug Gilmout have longer streaks in CHL history, with 52 and 55 games respectively.
The London Knights’ next game is against the Guelph Storm on November 16. The last encounter between these teams resulted in a thrilling 8-7 victory for London. Fans will be eagerly watching to see if the Knights can extend their winning streak and if Cowan can continue his impressive scoring run.
In other news, Kasper Halttunen, who scored 17 goals in 18 playoff games to lead the London Knights to the 2024 OHL Championship, has been reassigned to London for the remainder of the 2024-25 season by the San Jose Sharks. Halttunen started the year with the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League where he scored two goals and four points in six games.
With their current form and the return of Halttunen, the London Knights are shaping up as a formidable force in the OHL. This is an opportune moment for potential investors and hockey enthusiasts to keep a close eye on the team’s progress.
