Finally, this Uncommon Game is Making Its Debut on Nintendo Switch Online

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack is set to add a new game to its roster, the classic Rare Nintendo 64 adventure, Banjo-Tooie. This sequel to the well-loved Banjo-Kazooie is expected to join the service on October 25, as announced by Nintendo last Friday.

A new trailer detailing the addition has been released, offering a sneak peek into the game. If you’re already a fan of Banjo-Tooie, the content won’t be new to you, but the experience will be. The game is virtually a direct port to Switch Online, with the addition of a new widescreen mode for an enhanced gameplay experience on larger screens.

Banjo Kazooie, the predecessor to Banjo-Tooie, has been part of the Nintendo Switch Online collection for two years. While the original game may have a more prominent reputation, Banjo-Tooie brings its own charm with improved graphics, more challenging puzzles, expansive game worlds, and the addition of multiplayer modes.

Interestingly, Banjo-Tooie holds historical significance as the final game Rare developed with Nintendo before Microsoft acquired the company in 2002. Rare’s partnership with Nintendo resulted in several iconic N64 games, including GoldenEye 007. These games have already found their place in the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack in 2023 and 2022, respectively. It was only a matter of time before Banjo-Tooie followed suit.

The Expansion Pack tier of Nintendo Switch Online membership provides access to other N64 titles like Mario Kart 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, and multiple Mario Party titles, among others. Additionally, it offers Super NES, Game Boy, NES, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis games. For those considering the service, the base Nintendo Switch Online tier is priced at $20 per year, while the expanded pack is available at $50 per year.

In summary, if you’re a gaming enthusiast looking to revisit classic titles or explore new ones, the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack offers an extensive library of options. With the upcoming addition of Banjo-Tooie, the nostalgia factor just got a significant boost.
