During a data breach that lasted for 10 months at Slim CD, around 1.7 million credit card accounts were exposed. This includes the cardholder’s name and address, and the card’s expiration date.

As per the recent report issued by the company, Slim CD noticed unusual activity in its computer systems around mid-June 2024. An internal investigation revealed that the problem began nearly a year ago, with unauthorized persons gaining system access between August 2023 and June 2024.

According to a separate report noticed by SecurityWeek and filed with the Maine Attorney General, Slim CD admitted that the data leak affected 1,693,000 individuals. This breach wasn’t restricted to Maine – out of the 1.7 million affected, only 797 were residents of Maine, as per Slim CD. The company has begun notifying those impacted by the breach.
